Zafaria - Welcome!/Savannah

Yep, its time for series of posts without old song titles in them, Zafaria is out!

Excited? I got home for the weekend to a pleasant surprise.








To the rescue!

First look in. Wow. Just as amazed as when I stepped foot into CL.

Best place for a Council of Elders EVER. Up in the trees ^.^

Let me just say, there are some awesome amulets here that give about 200 health and a stackable blade of your school. The bad part = Myth mobs. Bleh. But, its only home to a couple quests to earn entrance into the Savannah, thankfully.

LOL, as soon as I heard the name Zafaria, I figured this would be the Zeke quest. Nice, Kingsisle xD now my 2 '60s bands are Zeke quests.

Ew? o_o

The next area! Hehe, it looks so epicly barren when you go in.

Kind of a toss up if this is beautiful or not, the toxic water-hole adds a certain effect..

Note that lions reside in this area, its not all scenery :P

This is the happiest message you get when you're fighting lions. You'll understand when you do this quest. Fire Lion Ravagers = the new Yeva Spiderkeeper & Crustacean Waverunners. Just saying.

Incidentally, the cauldron has fishbones and strange lumps.. yeah, I wouldn't eat out of it. Nice hut, though!

Thanks to a random wizard, Nergal was overthrown! At one point he randomly put a Weakness on me, thinking he has the ability to cheat.. yeah, it wasn't that hard.

Kinda hard to believe the past king was turned into a little giraffe.. no longer as cute, but its for the best, right?

And, following that, Arlen turned level 63! :) can't wait to try out the Zamunda Outskirts today. Lastly, here are my opinions on the first couple areas:

Its beautiful. The myth enemies in the Market are a pain, but the overcrowdiness of the first day got me a lot of help with that. If we had a view from the very tops of the trees up in the Baobab, even better! I'll have to see, I haven't finished ZF after all :P

Savannah - Its beautiful as well, but be prepared for a LOT of collect X from X quests. Those Zebra and lion(esses) get to be annoying. The bosses are great, the challenge factor for Queen Ghostmane is pretty big, 5k Fire with 2 minions at around 2k health. Aye. Managed to solo it after a failed first attempt. Nergal apparently cheats a little, but not much, so don't worry about those. Anyways, be prepared to become enemies with Fire Lion Ravagers. Just saying.

Anyways, I'm out to start some Zamunda Outskirts! Looks like some weird jackals need to go away. Next area of ZF post should be up tomorrow ^.^

Sights of the Spiral - Northgard

Was kinda hoping Zafaria would come out today.. oh well. Time for a segment post!

I FINALLY found the Wysteria Library Archives and was pretty amazed.. yeah, I know I'm late on that discovery :P I got all the Wallflowers though!




Awesome.

After finding where the WT Runestone was, I finally found the reason for that 'invisible bridge'. You have to get ice. Again, late discovery. Going with the KBB strategy to get rid of some fighting side-quests and leaving the "talk to _____ for ____ EXP" out there to get free EXP once the level cap comes out. Never realized my Sophia, my Ice character, had so many quests o_o

And, there you go! It had been a while since a GH one and it really is a pretty world, and I stuck with their simple hub: Northgard. Its really beautiful if you stop to look around :)

Not much time, as its a weekday, so hopefully by the next post Zafaria will be out.. and, hey, I *might* not post till after Thanksgiving either, so..

Meanwhile..

Well, that was a lot faster than I thought.. "Zafaria" is out.

Where to start? Well, I'm sure you all know that the new world is out, and I've decided to hold off all of my opinions on it till it comes to Live.. after all, I haven't set foot in the world yet and I don't want to add spoilers to anyone else :) I've seen too much already, lol.

That severely limits stuff I could post, but, I'll talk about the other updates besides ZF.

Armor Piercing:

Pretty clever, also lessens the value of shields, spells a lot of us take for granted :P. It also improves simple accuracy spells by adding a pierce ability to them as well, which is awesome. Might not throw away those Snipers anymore.

More Pet Feeding:
This doesn't always work, I gave my Fierce Hound a VERY expensive item from the Test Realm and got less than 2000 gold. But, I got a Grendelweed from a unauctionable Black Mantle Deck which normally would have sold for little gold, so it definitely works for things like those random unauctionable fire level 25 items and such. More info coming on those benefits later, Petnome is doing a side project for it as well, so don't hesitate to submit there.

Music Players:

Great idea! We're only offered the WC & KT theme to buy right now, but apparently the other themes drop from bosses around the Spiral.. we'll see how you can get those, I could really use a MB theme.

Anyways, a couple pictures to end the post. I expected more from myself too, but I want to hold most of my Zafaria opinions till I actually go in it, and have a series of Zafarian adventures like the CL adventures starting here. Wow, those times were awesome, questing nonstop in awe at CL for 17 days. Hope Zafaria is like that. Great memories :).

Donna Spellthorn gave me a rhino ride. It honestly makes me more excited to get this mount for duel-boxing, so useful, and SO asking for this Super Bundle for Christmas.

And, thats pretty much it. I'll try to get one of my segment posts (Sights of the Spiral/Where The Streets Have No Name) next week, otherwise I'll probably just wait till Zafaria hits Live and then have a bit of a posting explosion. Hope its like the Celestian adventures I had in 2010 again, though High School is busy.. its better than Middle School, though! Good luck to those who are trying out the Test Realm and..
