63 Fish In The Tome

... 63 species of fish. 

Take one out, put it in the Tome,
62 species of fish to go.

If you couldn't tell, this number denotes the number of fish species available to catch so far. Naturally, I've been on a mission to catch every one, and it was heating up as I got closer to the ultimate goal. As Arlen had a garden to tend, I relegated the task to Tarlac, my level 80 Life wizard. He would see a lot of action in the next couple weeks.

The fish had a propensity for blinking took when I took their picture. Hmm...

This was probably my favorite punny fish. The description doesn't lie.

For awhile, I focused on the three Grizzleheim epic fish. In rarity, the Polar Bearracuda was probably the easiest to get, although it is pretty difficult to find one ice fish right beside a waterfall.

It's hard to get a Rune Fish to show up, but pretty easy to clear the Mirkholm Keep pond and come back. As usual, the little guy decided to fall asleep in my screenshot.

 The Boss Hog ended up being the toughest, by far. It takes a few minutes just to clear the pond after using 'Reveal Fish'. This is where I learned a useful tip: once a fish has noticed your lure, click on the 'Fishing' tab on the right side of the screen. Instead of waiting for the fish to miss, then, you can just reel your lure back in without using energy. It was a time-saver, but it would be awhile before I found that bossy fish :P

Catching at least one of the two Krokotopia epic fish was easy enough.

Jellyfish are the cutest little things.

My last real focus was on Mooshu, which has the most epic fish (four), and all of them ended up being pretty stingy aside from the Bubba Fish.

Probably my proudest catch, considering I ran through Crimson Fields 3-4 times (and did a lot of waiting) just to reach the pond. Surprisingly though, Mr. Musushi here only took second place in time spent trying to catch a fish.

I forgot to fish for the Goldfin-ger for awhile, but it didn't take too long to catch. Like many of the Water Dojo fish, the Goldfin-ger is a fire species, but it's hard to miss as this guy really motors through the water quickly.

That marked 62 out of 63 fish. The Boss Hog and the Musushi put up a real challenge, but which one was my greatest undoing?

I ran through Emperor's Retreat a few dozen times before the Silver Streak showed up -- and that's a conservative estimate. It's a cool dungeon, but I am definitely sick of it by now :P

A couple days ago, Wizard101 made the 'Summon Fish' spell available for Level 6+ fishers. Despite the 10 energy cost, it was very helpful, as I could just re-stock the Emperor's Retreat pond with fish without waiting a good 15 minutes or so.

Last night, after re-stocking the pond with fish once again, I finally saw the little loading spiral for the Silver Streak. I was a bundle of nerves, to say the least. Looking in the biggest Emperor's Retreat pond where they're usually found, I didn't see any fish moving with significant speed. Sure enough, I caught two Garrrfish. Had I scared the Silver Streak away?! Where was it?

In the front pond? That didn't seem right. But there was a fish moving crazy fast through those waters. Following it, I attempted to cast a lure but was met with the "Insufficient Energy" message. Drat. Waiting around had prepared me for this moment, but I wasn't just going to wait another 15 minutes. There was one more Energy Elixir in my gift list (thanks, Grub Guardian), and I used it.

Voila. On the night of August 7th, over three weeks after Fishing was launched, I was done catching all the new fish. In fact, the publishing of this post solely depended on when I caught the Silver Streak.

Finally, Tarlac Lifegiver can take a well-deserved break from fishing. That is, until I start crafting Aquariums for every fish I have. That's a lot of Lifecudas. So, take your time, Celestia and Zafaria.

Operation Grimwater

As I was minding my own business in Triton Avenue, I happened upon the ever-egotistical Duncan Grimwater. Suddenly, it occured to me that my Death wizard, Chase Deathcrafter, had the same facial features as this humble NPC.

So... why not replicate the clothes?

After a little bit of Bazaar research, I happened upon Duncan's hat and boots --

Certainly not cheap for level 20, but stylish nonetheless.

Unfortunately, I couldn't find the appropriate robe to complete the look, so I went with a standard one. Duncan's Terminus staff was in good supply though, and the look was done!

Well, almost perfect. The robe was still bothering me.

Flawless above the shoulders, though! :P

Newbie wizards were gawking, but I had to figure out how to get Duncan's cooler death-y robe. His robe and boots both come from Taskmaster Djal in the Karanahn Barracks.. won't the robe also?

A visit to the Wiki page proved fruitless. Several of his robes were specific to other schools, and all of them were auctionable.

Obviously the newbies were starting to see past my disguise, so it was time to start farming Djal for a robe I wasn't even sure he had. However, Chase hadn't even done the quest.

On the bright side, I got to see manders dancing for freedom! :D

Sadly, farming the tyrannical Krok for an hour or so produced no results, so I had to cut my losses with the death-y symbols and be content looking mostly like Duncan Grimwater.

Close enough.

Next up, Susie Gryphonbane?

Here Comes The Sun

Hey everyone :) so my schedule limits me to one post a week, I'm very active on weekends but pretty much dormant on weekdays. I still have free time but parents.. yeah.. High School isn't too bad, though! And last weeks blank post had a reason, btw, and I was going to post this on Tuesday but couldn't.. oh well.

A nap is a good thing to take after a Sandstorm.

Beat Stormriven! It was pretty fun and the Duo would level up right after :D

Bing! The Duo finished the grueling Robotic-fish-infested Science Center (which would be my second-favorite area still if they still dropped Sunstone..) and are headed into the Crustacean Empire and may finish CL by Monday! Looks like my poll a while ago has its answer.

Where The Streets Have No Name - KT

The point of this new segment is theorycrafting and just small areas left out in the game. So, going up world by world, we start in... Krokotopia!

So, we have this small empty island, and an abandoned shop (excluding the Zeke Beetle). Maybe it could be a shop for... hmm.. something new? Storm Krok pet?

Dank blackness.. hmm.. how about a large bridge going into the blackness with a big secret boss? Who drops something awesome? And now you can theorycraft what he may drop, his name, does he cheat...etc.

And then there's this empty throne area (also one in the Throne Room of Fire). You could have another boss here, or a vendor? Like the Smart Allec Wiz's post, Kingsisle gives a lot of detail, but whats the point if its just a dead end serving no purpose?

Forgot to crop this, but there's a ton of empty space in the (err, name of this place..) Dig Site. Maybe some more reagents/free furniture, something? Also, forgot to take a picture, but there's a lot of unaccessible stairs in the front area of the Sun Pyramid, going down. Plus you can see big Krok Statues down there. Maybe one day we get to repair the stairs and go down there and find something?

Near Khai Amahte, here's a door. I believe Mycin had one of his Storm quests in there, if any of you ever wondered about that door.

Great view of KT up in the Secret Shop. If we could fly, wouldn't this be a great takeoff point?

Now, here's an island thats been noticed before, the one with no purpose. Check that it has 2 small Obelisks up there, like the Secret Shop Island does with a teleporter between them. Might we be able to teleport one day up there as well, and encounter a new NPC? There's also Briskbreeze Tower, where the final boss hints going to KT next. Maybe that island could have an imprisoned NPC in there, although that little building looks much too small for any enemies. Hopefully Kingsisle will answer this in the future. Well, KT doesn't have too many empty places, so I'll quickly update the Balance duos progress to finish this post.

Did Mirkholm Keep and the Yoshihito area yesterday/today, so goodbye, Mooshu! Dragonspyre comes up next, bleh. Hopefully that will go quickly, as the last couple worlds have. Plus, I got Spectral Minion at 38 after beating Cyrus Drake.

Had to beat him for a Gem among other things in the quest. In the end, it came down to summoning his kind.

I kept them up (didn't press DONE for a few minutes ^.^) for a bit, and a mob gathered xD. As my tweet said when I released them: "Alright, say bye bye to the piggies" *pigs fly in air and point at me* *jumps* Random wizard: "lol! you dodged them" Hehe, it was funny.

There's a better one from my friend Blaze Shadowhorn. Hope everyone's having a good Summer, mostly loafing around till my friend comes in 2 days from 500 miles away :)
