And soloed the rest, woot. Very close to LvL 60, as I wanted to figure out how many side quests I should do to reach it at the right time.
















Speaking of soloing, Tarlac went for the dive into the Hall of Valor! And came up with 2 new pets!
Can't find the Death Troll one... but anyway, I finally got lucky and got those 2, woot :D. Took down Jotun first, and I forgot my Death wand to take off Grettir's death shields (thank goodness I also forgot to take off my Reshuffle amulet! Hehe) so it took quite a bit longer.















Ah, good ol' Blue Bart. Fought him quite a bit, no luck with the Palm Shrubs -_-. I made a satirical Twitter for him if you want to follow, @Blue_Bart ;)













Apparently they're so drunk they can't see where they're going O_o.















If you've (um, why did this just go bold? Grrr, won't let me change it) been fighting in-game lately, you've probably seen some unusally red spells. Short-time glitch, I presume, which IS kind of fun! Blood Shark! :O

Mycin is pretty Wild-Bolt happy lately, so I've noticed the red streak of lightning from that too. Blood-Bolt! Working hard on houses, plus Paige Moonshade (housing idol! :P) is hosting a big party tonight. Can't wait to see some inspiration for Mycin's Observatory.

Forest Lords killed off all the minions, no problems with them :D. No pics, but here's the deal: I died when Orrick had 2,000 health left yesterday, and had more buffs today but he overwhelmed his doggy police on me, just a couple turns before his death was due. Sigh. I don't know if I want to try again Sunday...MAYBE :P.

I logged on very late to do some quick Wizzy errands, but Fallon's party was STILL huge! I joined the end, the Flash Mob practice, teehee :D

We impressed some folks in the Commons for awhile with KBB's commands to Dance & Clap and adjourned. Very fun, I went to sleep later then I thought :P. Other than this, Mycin's Spinyfish is almost Adult and I beat up Kensington Park a couple more times for the heck of it. Got my 3rd Carved Pew and some gold :). That's it... Happy Soloing!

Dugan followed in Arlen & Mycin's footsteps today (I'd have Tarlac do it, but I know he'd easily finish off Mali. Wish I had tried at LvL 50 for him too ;))























Walking across treacherous paths with lava pits under. Brrr. So, after doing the 'preview-Crowns-house-in-middle-of-duel-trick' (which I hear won't be around anymore according to Test Realm. Dagnabbit!) to skip the Fire Gurtok, Dugan found himself in the Crown of Fire.













Ice Drakes can't handle Dragon's heat. Got a 'Pest Zapper' spell from one :)











After a few more Crowns-shop-previewing-houses trick to get more health after the minion battles and to go first vs. Malistaire (had to do it 4 times before he would surrender going first in this important duel) Dugan bravely confronted the evil Death Teacher (do I hear "Tenure for Dworgyn!"?), summoned a LvL 60 Life henchman, who was very un-selfish, but healed me a LOT at the beginning when I hadn't lost any health at all. Luckily, the enemies decided to go after the Life henchman, and killed her off just as I summoned all-might Dragon to throw the minions off the circle














Had I not finally found Dragon that turn, I may have eventually lost :o
With a load of buffing, Death/Myth shields (not that the Myth shields did anything. Dugan's 2nd school is Life) and a couple Sprites to escape further harm, 1 Helephant and 1 14-pip Heckhound later... (with all blades and traps -including Feint- I had, Heckhound did an astounding 4,950 damage on its 1st turn)

Sporting a sweet new badge from doing all of DS Academy's side quests, Dugan is ready to enter Celestia, and a 4th Grandmaster Wizard's journey through CL has begun.

And, lastly, Mycin and questing-partner Blaze Stormthief (I will learn how to link a name when I feel like it, lol. He runs the awesome blog The Word From Stormthief) overran the Chancel last night. Funny thing, it didn't make us fight Optio Vitale, the annoying Balance boss. Bug? Hmm. Oh, notice the badge from earning 23,000+ EXP after the battle? :D 3rd Legendary wizard! Just the Trial of Spheres remains, which we may do this weekend. ... Happy Soloing!

P.S. News from Twitter that Mega Snacks are now 'No Auction' in the Test Realm as well. *sigh* just like the Wayfinder $cheme back in Summer, huh? Darn exploiters, the $cheme was an accidental find KI should've found though. So was the Gardening exploit, although you could earn INFINITE rewards, o_o

Kensington Park soloing and...

Hi wizzies! First off, here's my garden so far, I just killed the Baby Carrots though (No, I am not part of the Mafia, they were innocent -and cute- but my Trumpet Vines needed them out of the way to grow faster). I'm Journeyman (Rank 6) as you see!













Sweetness :). I've finally figured Gardening all out, I'm sure. Oh, see the Dragon Skull? There's a story behind that, which comes at the end... In the meantime, tonight I did a run of Kensington Park. Simple? I went solo. With NO Potions. :D


I got this from the last boss before the 1st Stoker (too lazy to look up the name :P). Who knew Magus wands dropped here? But, its No Trade sadly, so into the Bazaar with you. Anyways, I had some scary moments at first, but it all calmed down, and it was actually...easy.

Why do I love Marleybone? Answer left. That factory is so beautiful it gives me goosebumps looking at it, literally. That's 1/2 hour into my supposed suicide mission :)

A half-hour later. Done. No problem-o! But, it wasn't all for naught (not counting bragging rights, hehe). Take a look. At the HOUSING ITEM OF THE DAY!

Plus, I snagged a Potion Motion -my favorite game- from the Bazaar. My life is complete. Jessica came to YELL HOUSING ITEM OF THE DAY! for me. Those gals are ALMOST out of their Shugo Chara obsession. I think. Anyways, moving on (you can go inside it too! AWESOME-SAUCINESS! And look at the Dog House Alric sold me. Oh, we're moving on? OK...)

I crafted that and the mega-mongous CL Bookshelf too. HI AMBROSE! He's watching you. Just sayin'...

Now, we'll get down to the earlier mystery of the Dragon Skull. How does one obtain this awesome piece of furniture?

That guy has a greeting thats almost better than Talos, I must say. Now *british accent*, we go to the Ol' Haunted Toweh of Dragonspieh, wheh one is lucky to escape... alive..

Yes, its full of glitches. 90% of the battles I did with him I was standing in the middle of the ring.
Plus, you can go through... walls... SEE?

Prepare for this place. Or you will end up a skull on a shelf. You can go through IRON bars, hehe! Also, even though this is a tower, it isn't really a dungeon. You can mark your spot and even change realms at the Vault Protector! Very useful to farm! Where is this place? In the Grand Chasm. That's all I can say. Look it up, because I do not want souls of the damned after me *looks around nervously*. The Dragon Skull, which the Vault Protector drops (3 floors of minions stand in your way, k?) helps any kind of Flytrap, Snow-peas, and Desparagus. Super-useful way to harvest every 2 hours!

We're nearing the end, so I'll tell you how I soloed Kensington Park now.

Deck construction: 3 Gargantuan, 3 Frogs, 2 Mythblades, 1 Spiritblade, Moon Pendant (amulet) and 2 Treant Polymorphs.

Now, for each boss, try your best to kill the minions without doing so to the boss. Now, play a Mythblade, look for the Time of Legend on your Moon Pendant, put a Gargantuan on a Frog and fire away! This, most of the time kills the minions but not the boss. When 1 mob is still fighting (usually boss, although a minion had a Mythshield once so it was him) use the Treant Morph, use Spirit Armor so no damage under 400 is done to you so you lose no health, then heal yourself back to full health! Now, finish off the remaining mob and move on. Thats what I did for each one, and it took me 1 hour, exactly :D. Here's a little guide to Kensington, but it was made almost 2 years ago so don't follow his rules on fighting (follow mine and you shall live! LOL) even though I really admire his ability to go as far as the 1st Stoker as a LVL 46 back then. Just look at how the minions walk, so you do your best walking without getting into annoying extra-robot fights. If you do, don't feel like an idiot because I got into 2 :P. Anyways, if you are not a Myth, just follow the rules I put with your school blade, bubble and 4 pip AoE. For Death and Life, you may just have to hit 1 by 1 with 2 Blades and a Wraith/Centaur, and both may not have to use the Treant Morph, lol. If you don't have Gargantuan, then go without it, although it is really good. It may just take longer, and you may have a better chance at dying. If you don't have the Treant Morph...ouch. It will be almost impossible without the Treant unless you stock 3 potions and Satyrs, or even if you don't have THAT, then Pixies. Lots. Got the guide, the Dragon Skull and the awesome Housing Item of the Day? Great! Incidentally, me and Jessica had never heard of the Camping Tent so I may have to add a Reply to the creator of the MB Furniture Drop-list, because I didn't see it there when I looked then around a month or so ago. 3rd time IS the charm. Malistaire has been soloed.

I did it. I did it. I did it!!! It took just over 20 minutes, and Malistaire went *POOF*. Since I couldn't take a video, I got some screenshots in :).

The walk up to him...

To tell the truth, I had such small guts it took me 5 minutes to actually walk up to him and battle ;).

It took me 3 times to kill him, I lost the other 2 times before the minions were even gone, but I remembered to mark my spot, immediately port back and use a potion and adjust my deck from what I had learned the first 2 fights. ( they were both kinda unlucky, couldn't find my spells needed to take minions out and stuff ) I was down to my last potion at the time I beat him, so I guess it was win-or-go-home :-P.

I had a bolt that had a lot of traps/blades so I thought it would kill. It didn't, but it was the point when I knew I would definitely pull it off :D.

I had full pips, so I used a Satyr just to make sure and then the finishing Triton...

If you remember back at the beginning of DS, Cyrus said it would be almost impossible for me to try to beat Malistaire alone, well, he was wrong hehe :D.

Close calls: I summoned my Storm minion 2nd turn, and they soon all jumped on him while I was able to pull off a Storm Lord to finally kill those pesky servants. One used Scarecrow! O_O lucky I had a death shield on at the time... My minion had 16 health when Malistaire remained, and then Malistaire took his eye for me, so my minion stayed the whole battle :-P. Malistaire also fizzled on an important Skeletal Pirate, and I used a friend's tower shield he had given me next turn and Mali used it again :-P ( Pirate ). Anyways, I got the Death Ebon robe. ( Storm robe would REALLY have made my day, hehe ) Thanks to: Thomas Deathgem, for providing an extra person to get past the crystals ( and we skipped the gurtoks ) and William Lioncatcher, who donated some treasure cards that came in handy, like the Tower, a Death shield and a Life healing boost :). So, I'm the 2nd Storm wizard to officially pull this off I think, and now I have to attend to the back-to-school bash! And eat a milshake, nom. Happy Farming!

Back-to-school-bash!

This weekend we are presenting our 2nd Annual Haunted Back-to-School Bash! Last year we had lots of fun in Nightside. This will be an event for everyone to get together after a long summer as we all transition back-to-school. The Spiral changes as our children and friends become busier with academics of another sort and may not have time to be as social. This will give us a chance to reflect on the past few months of playtime and wish the best of luck to those going back to school! Date: Saturday - August 28, 2010Time: 6PM Central/7PM EasternWhere: Nightside, Vampire Realm, Area 1 - It's in the same place as the usual RR afterparties :). Be there! Soloing...Malistaire?

I've gotten a little inspiration over the days to solo ol' Mali. Well, a LOT of inspiration really, on youtube. If Friendly can do it, if Malorn can, can I? Seeing Friendly's battle almost made me say the "Staples" line - That was easy. I used to think Death would have a hard time what with all the prisms but it only takes a few turns to put those prisms on ( and remember to have some in your sideboard ) scarecrow, lots of shielding and trapping, and then the big hit on Malistaire. So If I had a GM Death ( which I really wish I had right now! :) ) I'd most likely complete it, but the best I have is storm, so is Mycin up for the challenge? I also saw a storm wizard do it, and it was NOT easy, he actually got lucky seeing as how several times Mali fizzled when it could have been the finishing hit. I couldn't find any others, so if Mycin does it, he's the 2nd official soloer of Malistaire for a storm, I guess. I did get a lot of ideas from that storm video though, such as lots of better accuracy bolts, etc. One time a Life wizard friend said he had soloed Malistaire easily, and I was like "C'mon..." but now that I think about it, maybe Tarlac ( if he was GM ) would have a chance, but it would take a long time so I'd probably pack a reshuffle :-P. I think I'll have to *attempt* it soon, and be sure to have a couple wizards standing by in case I die, and have a spot marked. All in all, I can't wait to try =). Sometimes I have some embarrasing defeats, but proper deck construction will come in here, where other times, I just stick my usual deck in and don't make any changes :-P. First, I'm thinking of trying to solo Tumok Gravelbeard to make sure I have a chance, skip the gurtoks and get right down to it vs. Malistaire. I'm kind of droning on here, so I'll cut short - You may be seeing Mycin in the Malistaire ring - alone - soon. ( I can't wait to try now that I think about it, xD ) My 1st possible date to try it is 1st thing Saturday, so I don't have to worry about it after school starts and all that, lol, I should have thought of this earlier... Let's just get in another "Flying Ace" comic for the heck of it ;)
