63 Fish In The Tome

... 63 species of fish.
Take one out, put it in the Tome,
62 species of fish to go.

If you couldn't tell, this number denotes the number of fish species available to catch so far. Naturally, I've been on a mission to catch every one, and it was heating up as I got closer to the ultimate goal. As Arlen had a garden to tend, I relegated the task to Tarlac, my level 80 Life wizard. He would see a lot of action in the next couple weeks.

The fish had a propensity for blinking took when I took their picture. Hmm...

This was probably my favorite punny fish. The description doesn't lie.

For awhile, I focused on the three Grizzleheim epic fish. In rarity, the Polar Bearracuda was probably the easiest to get, although it is pretty difficult to find one ice fish right beside a waterfall.

Are you hibernating now, or..?

It's hard to get a Rune Fish to show up, but pretty easy to clear the Mirkholm Keep pond and come back. As usual, the little guy decided to fall asleep in my screenshot.

The Boss Hog ended up being the toughest, by far. It takes a few minutes just to clear the pond after using 'Reveal Fish'. This is where I learned a useful tip: once a fish has noticed your lure, click on the 'Fishing' tab on the right side of the screen. Instead of waiting for the fish to miss, then, you can just reel your lure back in without using energy. It was a time-saver, but it would be awhile before I found that bossy fish :P

Catching at least one of the two Krokotopia epic fish was easy enough.

Jellyfish are the cutest little things.
My last real focus was on Mooshu, which has the most epic fish (four), and all of them ended up being pretty stingy aside from the Bubba Fish.

Probably my proudest catch, considering I ran through Crimson Fields 3-4 times (and did a lot of waiting) just to reach the pond. Surprisingly though, Mr. Musushi here only took second place in time spent trying to catch a fish.

I forgot to fish for the Goldfin-ger for awhile, but it didn't take too long to catch. Like many of the Water Dojo fish, the Goldfin-ger is a fire species, but it's hard to miss as this guy really motors through the water quickly.

That marked 62 out of 63 fish. The Boss Hog and the Musushi put up a real challenge, but which one was my greatest undoing?

I ran through Emperor's Retreat a few dozen times before the Silver Streak showed up -- and that's a conservative estimate. It's a cool dungeon, but I am definitely sick of it by now :P

A couple days ago, Wizard101 made the 'Summon Fish' spell available for Level 6+ fishers. Despite the 10 energy cost, it was very helpful, as I could just re-stock the Emperor's Retreat pond with fish without waiting a good 15 minutes or so.

Last night, after re-stocking the pond with fish once again, I finally saw the little loading spiral for the Silver Streak. I was a bundle of nerves, to say the least. Looking in the biggest Emperor's Retreat pond where they're usually found, I didn't see any fish moving with significant speed. Sure enough, I caught two Garrrfish. Had I scared the Silver Streak away?! Where was it?

In the front pond? That didn't seem right. But there was a fish moving crazy fast through those waters. Following it, I attempted to cast a lure but was met with the "Insufficient Energy" message. Drat. Waiting around had prepared me for this moment, but I wasn't just going to wait another 15 minutes. There was one more Energy Elixir in my gift list (thanks, Grub Guardian), and I used it.

Voila. On the night of August 7th, over three weeks after Fishing was launched, I was done catching all the new fish. In fact, the publishing of this post solely depended on when I caught the Silver Streak.

Finally, Tarlac Lifegiver can take a well-deserved break from fishing. That is, until I start crafting Aquariums for every fish I have. That's a lot of Lifecudas. So, take your time, Celestia and Zafaria.

Happy Angling!

Questing With A Vengeance

My old hiatus record was around a month, correct?
Well, triple that and I suppose I'm back. I have cookies.. I mean, excuses.
Semi-internet-less for a whole summer can get boring, and then there was the problem of me having my mom's e-mail to sign in for this blog, which I just fixed. Last but not least, there's high school. Woooo. But, I will get my own laptop soon.

On that note, not blogging doesn't mean not playing! (Though I know most of you are off doing P101 ;P)
Sophia demonstrates the capabilities of her arrow

Fun with anagrams! ;)

Picture Godzilla at sunset. In a zoo.

Alura, Arlen's little sister, has been making a lot of progress as well.

Soloing Youkai for fun - with a little help from my monsters (Lady Gaga puns, really?)

And more help from.. that field with flowers in the center

Fun fact: Imps are terrible swimmers (plus their violins aren't waterproof)

My deck for the battle (with a little treasure card help on the Satyr)

Just the first of many double digit situations I would face in Dragonspyre. Keep in mind that without doing side quests, she's not even level 40 at this point. However, she isn't Angus Unicornpants, so that's a measly excuse :P

Yet another encounter of the beasts - and low health.

I know mandrakes are supposed to resemble humans, but this is ridiculous.

Okay, just a simple random shot. Who says Wizard101 isn't pretty?

This was interesting - I got into a battle with fire elephants while transformed into an elephant. Naturally, one of them used helephant. Didn't get the shot at the right time, but interesting photo op.

Stopping for some munchies along the way.

Out of the Labyrinth, thanks to a little help from Mycin. I forgot the Stone rose, though. That's like remembering you forgot one important item from the store. Cursed roses.

A little more boss drama - this time won with help from a puppet minion (yeesh, only more level till level 45 gear)

And of course, the old tradition of confronting the apple tub. I wonder if bobbing counts as an assault charge?

On that note, Alura is now at Malistaire's Lair. I have to admit, I'm really looking forward to doing CL again for some reason. I suppose it's the nostalgia from two years ago. Only 10 days till the two year anniversary!

Hope everyone is progressing well in Pirate101. Don't forget Wizard101, though ;)

Happy Questing!

End Of The Worlds

First of all, there's a new layout for this month. As Spring is a'coming, that pretty but outdated winter theme had to go. And, hey, nothing's wrong with a little St. Patrick's wallpaper!

February 18-March 3:
Labyrinth -> Forum
Hall of Valor -> almost done with Ravenscar

That's the last couple weeks in a nutshell.. I didn't quite finish DS and GH, but I'm pretty darn close. And I had an extra day! :P

The Jotun & brothers battle was pretty epic with just two level 42 death wizards. Cheryl and Chase were forced to under 500 health multiple times, as you can see on this finishing hit on Ullik:

That 1,059 health was very crucial, needless to say. It also looks like Jotun is breathing out some blue-ish air. Never knew his breath was that bad.

I didn't get anything good, but finishing this battle was enough for me :P
The duo also did the Labyrinth 1 1/2 times (remember the Obsidian Chest. Bleh.), and the Crystal Grove last weekend. These last couple of days have been the second part of the Drake Hatchery and Ravenscar (dang, that place is long). So, just the Forum, Great Spyre, and the last half of Ravenscar to go before finishing two worlds. Though Celestia and Wintertusk are long, that higher EXP is lovely :)

I also did a teeny bit of work on Chase's new Death house. So far, just the little skull path you can see in the front, some diseased mushrooms around the pool and one room inside the house. It's pretty creepy so far, and I'm finding myself more ambitious on furniture items here, as some I want are from the Nightmare Hoard Pack. Guess I have to wait until October to fulfill some items :P

Other than questing on the Death duo, a little housing and daily gardening, not much else to be included in this post. I did go to my first twizardDC "meeting" this afternoon. I'm all for a derby-racing club, and I had several fun races. Chico is a good racer and KBB is a good opponent! To come, just stop by the Pixie realm Pet Pavilion at 1 PM EST on Saturdays :) I'll take some pics next week.

Lastly, I guess I'll establish a new routine here by making a goal to do by 3-16:
- Beat that first area of Wintertusk who's name escapes me at the moment
- Beat the Survey Camp
- Get to level 45
- Work on one of my houses a bit

Similar things - beat X areas, work on house, etc.. maybe I'll do some crafting later on.
Well, have a good early March! And remember to set those clocks on March 11th, of course.

Happy Questing!

Animals

There are quite a few animals in this post, so I figured I would put that as the title. It's also a Pink Floyd album, lol. The Death duo has advanced from the Village of Sorrow to the Labyrinth in the last 2 weeks (along with part of Grizzleheim), so they deserve screenshots this time!

This little piggy fell flat on his rear.

And this little elephant destroyed the other piggy.

It's always cool to catch the Tree of Life fruit after the Death Oni battle. Kinda puts it into perspective by having to defeat 3 streets of enemies just for one of the fruits, too.

And so, later on, the Grand Chasm Past. It
is in the past and the Vault numbers are in the 1930s, so I thought I'd do a little showcase in black-and-white.

Enjoying the breeze ;)

The volcano, now with an ugly dragon gracing the top of it, used to be just like the Mooshu background ones. Even a little snow on the top. Imagine a little snow on the Dragon Titan.

As Dragonspyre isn't exactly my favorite world, I'm doing one area in GH and then one in DS for a change of scenery. GH is very pretty but can get boring. DS isn't very pretty and can get boring.

Enjoying a little Frostholm scenery. Hard tell what time of day it is in GH, definitely not as dark as MB, but more like a very early morning place. Part of what makes it pretty and graces Arlen's name (
Dawneyes)

New robe and wand time! And 2 more levels till Wraith..

So, as about everyone knows (but it still isn't displayed on the Launcher..) - Wizard101 Tag is out! I'm lovin' it. (This has nothing to do with you, McDonalds) A main strategy seems to be
a) Find a hideout (behind a tree, rock, cranny, etc.)
b) Take a useful star to use when an enemy finds your hideout and approaches
These are handy, and I've tried them (Found a good spot at Winterbreeze's house earlier and staked out there). But, you have to admit, it's usually more fun when you're running around. Of course, the chances of losing are enhanced, but the only reward for winning is bragging rights. In normal Tag, I like to hang around the Gobbler, as I tend to giggle when the "Beware: ______" thing changes 5 times in several seconds :P. Wildfire Tag is really fun too, though, and I'm glad they made that one. Seems worth the 2,000 crowns. Also, there are more music scrolls and other minor updates on the patch notes---woot! It says it's coming out "later this year" though. Could this be a celestian wait?

And, taking advantage of the Test Realm earlier today, I got lucky and got the final Foo Dog talent Petnome was missing. Those beasts covering their eyes like that is too cute ^.^ remember to check out the Petnome contest that comes with the completed Foo Dogs! Twelve 10k crowns prizes.. ooh.

And so, to wrap up, Cheryl+Chase have reached the Labyrinth and the Hall of Valor as of tonight. I reached the Labyrinth a few days ago and did Mirkholm Keep this past day or two. I did spend a lot of time playing Tag and hung at Ditto's party last night too though. Was in a one and a half hour battle most of the party that ended with a close victory. We were down 3v4 most of the fight but managed as the other team lost a player who had to go and we defeated their Life wizard. Of course, Paige was the last one standing :P. And, of course, Happy 2nd Wizzaversary, Ditto! Let's hear it for many more to come listening to your furry tales ;)

So.. let's see how far the Death Duo gets before the next post. Seems I'm going biweekly posts now, so I'll set a goal for completion of DS and GH by then.. we'll see! See you guys in March and have a good Leap Year, then :) you can always follow my Twitter feed for updates too.

Happy Questing!

Sights of the Spiral - Northgard

Was kinda hoping Zafaria would come out today.. oh well. Time for a segment post!

.. first coming with 3 random pics.
I FINALLY found the Wysteria Library Archives and was pretty amazed.. yeah, I know I'm late on that discovery :P I got all the Wallflowers though!

Awesome.

After finding where the WT Runestone was, I finally found the reason for that 'invisible bridge'. You have to get ice. Again, late discovery. Going with the KBB strategy to get rid of some fighting side-quests and leaving the "talk to _____ for ____ EXP" out there to get free EXP once the level cap comes out. Never realized my Sophia, my Ice character, had so many quests o_o

And, there you go! It had been a while since a GH one and it really is a pretty world, and I stuck with their simple hub: Northgard. Its really beautiful if you stop to look around :)

Not much time, as its a weekday, so hopefully by the next post Zafaria will be out.. and, hey, I *might* not post till after Thanksgiving either, so..

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
Hehe. Really, awesome holiday, then Christmas is soon. Have a great week, everyone, and..

Happy Adventuring!

*Ding* 7th Legendary!

Hey everyone!
Balance Duo got to Legendary on a nonstop gaming session of the Crustacean Empire and Chancel (but I forgot to take a picture..) so they just need to beat the Trial of Spheres to pretty much finish, although that isn't a big deal since we don't have a new main world coming out in our knowledge soon. Anyways, the only school I don't have a Legendary in is now Death, so I'll probably get started on that Duo soon. Chase and Cheryl are waiting impatiently in Triton Avenue...

Also, I attended the Evil Theurgist's Cancer Walk last Saturday, had some fun and took some screenshots :)
(I think the video won't allow to play on Blogger, but just click the title of it to see it on Youtube.)
I didn't win anything but thats ok, I also just found my Spanish teachers mother is dying from Colon Cancer this week (same thing Charles Schulz died of). Most cancers are very dangerous and need a cure, so keep walking for them!

So, not much else news.. hopefully Wizard101 will top LoL this year in the awards :) thanks for voting everyone. And, in terms of the new 5 pets, here are my favorites:

1. Primal Wildclaw - Rune-carved Wildclaw? Epic. Plus, its Myth.
2. Muscled Cat - Woah, MB gone even more gangster?
3. Burning Pixie - Hard to describe, but really cool.
4. Skeletal Knight - Like the Skeletal Pirate, but still cool, looking a bit icier.
5. Pink Jellyfish - Not too much different, just a bit paler. Most expensive too.

To finish off, I randomly found you don't get pulled by Winterdeep Warren grendels anymore. Sweet. Makes for findings of frozen bears and random end pictures with Sophia again!

Is that supposed to be steam in an icy place? If you look closely too, you can see the entrance from the bosses lair where the picture was taken. Even more sweet.

Happy Questing!
